Passover in a tent

After eating all the steaks, chocolate and ice cream, we decided that we need to watch our weight and we have to go on a trek. Luckily enough, it was on Passover,so izick's dream to celebrate the holiday all by ourselves in the nature, could come true.

So, we got prepared to the trek very quickly, since we are used to arranging the bags to a trek, it's like an automatic reaction when we know we are on our way to a trek.
We had just a bit of a problem with the food. The trek is located in Chile and we were in Argentina, which means that we had to cross the boarder in order to start the trek, and you can't pass any fruit, cheese or meat trough the boarder. So, we had to get a long with dry food like pasta and rice (Sorry in advance to all the people who keep kosher on passover...).

The trek started with an early wake up to get to the bus. After 4 hours ride, we were after 2 boarder crossing and another 2 stamps in our passports.

We had to get off the bus in the middle of nowhere. The driver's assistant in the bus took us as a personal project and took care of us all the way, since he was worry that we won't find the place. However, after less then 10 minutes from the Chilean boarder the bus drop us off.

We started walking towards the entrance of the trek to pay our entrance fee. (who say that going on a trek is cheap?).

After that we had a long climb up the mountain. However, just before we left the flat ground Izick say goodbye to all the cows and promised them he will see them again on his plate when he will finish the trek.

The climb up was quite steep and difficult, 3 non stop hours of climb.

When we got to the top we were so glad because the walk for the day was done and we saw the hut that we could sleep in, in the distance .

We were so happy when we saw it, but our smile was gone shortly after we went inside and saw that there is no indication were we could find drinking water. Not diminished by the unknown, we went outside to look for a water source. This was nerve racking.
After 1 hour I decided that I'm going back to the hut and the next day I'm going back down. Izick was so upset and nerves, so I let him go by himself and look for water. After about 40 minutes he came back running since it was already dark outside. However, that moment our water crisis was over and we could continue our trip.

The next day we were on our way to the banos which is a thermal bath in the nature.

The walk to the banos was very beautiful. We circled the volcanic mountain, the phullaye, and continue walking in the dessert hills. It's quite amazing seeing this kind of dessert and at the same time seeing all the snow in the area.

After 4 hours we arrived to our campsite. We made our tent and continue on our way, without bags to see the geysers.
The walk was ok except for one river crossing, which I couldn't handle, the water was freezing cold.

On our way back Izick carry me on his back, but unfortunately there was no one who could took a picture, so you need to believe me.

When we arrived to the geyser it felt like we arrived to hell. The volcanic activity over there is amazing . We didn't see much because there was lots of smoke coming out of the geyser and there were clouds, but the sounds was quite clear to understand what is going on down there.

From there we went back to our tent, ready to have our Passover night. We were quite pleased with our night, we read from the HAGDA and sang all the songs. It was very hilarious, especially because there were other people in the campsite and we didn't know what they are thinking of us, singing in our tent.

After we finished reading the HAGDA and eating we went to the banos.

It was amazing taking a warm bath in the middle of a trek, when all your muscles hurts and you are smelly and you dream of a bath.

In the morning we got ready to go back the same way we came and return to the hut.

This time we weren't alone there, it was a full night. And thanks to our "water crisis" no one else had one, and I made sure that no one else will ever had, by leaving a note saying were is the water source.

Izick didn't waste any time and took advantage of the good weather and climb to the volcanic mountain crater.

The next day we were on our way back. This time the way down took us half the time it took us to climb. When we arrived to the flat area I was so happy...

and izick was dreaming on his steak...
