Bariloche - the city of chocolate, ice cream and steaks

Our next destination after being in Pucon was Bariloche in Argentina.
Just for you to keep up, we are going to go back and forward between Chile and Argentina, so I hope you will keep up with the stories.

We heard so much about this city before even got here, so in some way we already felt like we have been here.

The first thing we did when we arrived to the city, after we find a place to sleep, was visiting all the chocolate shops. I still don't understand why there is so many, and what is there obsession about chocolate?! Maybe one of you can tell me...

After that we went and indulge ourselves with an amazing dinner at Don Alberto de Parilla, which mean meat and lots of it.
When we waited to our course we observed the portions other people got, and we were afraid we made a mistake with the amount of meat we asked. You can't believe how much meat they give you.
The don't ask how much gram you what, just if you want 1/2 portion or full portion.
We choose 1.5 portion and I think we got about 1 kilo of fillet steak. And I'm not talking about the chips we got. Well this is Bariloche...

The next day we tried the ice cream, but I must say that I didn't fall from my feet. The Italian ice cream in Israel is much better.

And Also I didn't say anything about the chocolate. Well, as I say it's amazing the amount of chocolate you see on the street, but again I think Max Brener has better chocolate and flavoures. But, it's my taste.

Termas Los Posones - Relax In the nature

Before saying goodbye from pucon we went to the thermal bath around the area.
As you can imagine, since there is volcanic mountain in the area, there is also natural thermal bath, just like in HAMAT GADER.

The place was very beautiful, far a way from civilization...

Los Lagos - The ants trek

Our third activity in Pucon was a day trip to see couple lagoons and water falls.
The trek called The ants trek since there is a story about it, and ofcourse it's about Israeli. It seems like only the Israeli people travel here or that we cause alot of problems...
The story tell that some Israeli people got lost in the trek for several days and they survived by eating only ants...
I don't know if it's true, but the name is nice. And ofcource it's known only by the hebrew name.

Los Ojos de Carburga - Our first attraction

After one day of good sleep we started to be more active in out travel and started by seeing the city, Pucon.

Pucon is a very beautiful town, surrounded by volcanic mountains. The most famous one, The Villarica.

From Pucon

Climbing on this mountain is one of the main attraction in Pucon, but this is for another post.

We took a bus from the city to a place called Los Ojos de Carburga, 25 km out of town. We saw a nice lagoon over there.
To tell you the truth, after being in New Zealand it's quite difficult to be amazed from lakes, waterfalls and mountains. I can say after being in Chile for 10 days that New Zealand and Chile offers almost the same things, nature and treks, Izick's favorite.

Climbing the Villarica volcanic maoutain

As I already mention, the most popular attraction in Pucon is Climbing on the volcanic mountain, The Villarica.

The climbing include cable-railway, which saves 1 hour of climbing, and then about 2 hours of steady climbing, all the way up to the top, the crater.

I can't tell you much, except for the facts. Since as you can imagine, izick did it by himself. The only thing I can tell you that he really enjoy himself and he even see lava, not every one get to see it.

I hope the photos can tell you the story...

Villarica

Villarica travers - Our first trek in South America, this time...

Well, as you can all imagine, not long after arriving to a place that offer treks we did one - The Villarica traverse. This trek surround the Volcanic mountain Villarica. At first it sounds just like the Tongerero circuit we did in New Zealand. But, the views in the trek were spectacular. Every couple of hours we saw different views and colors.

The trek can be done for 2-5 days. We did a 3 days trek. Both nights we slept next to a beautiful lagoons.

I must say that compare to treks in New Zealand this trek was quite easy, and if I say so, it is!!!
