Izick Birthday

I'm not sure if all of you remembered, but Izick's birthday was on Sunday the 28 of January. The man is 29 year old. I'm starting to see the wrinkles.

You probably think, how can you celebrate someone birthday when you are on a trip?
Well, it's hard. He didn't get any presents, if that what you think of. But, I tried to make the last days as fun and satisfying as they can be for him.

So, it's all started on Friday. We went to a Salmon lake to do some fishing. This was one of the main activities Izick really wanted to do here in New Zealand.

It all started, when each of us got our fishing rods, nets and one knife to kill the fish. At first I just looked from the back, since, Izick said he had experience in fishing. So, Izick and another Israeli girl (lets call her miri, since we don't know her name) that joined us, were fishing and I was guarding from behind holding the net in case any of them will catch a fish.
After 15 minutes nothing really changed, so Izick gave me his rod and went to the toilet.

By the time he was back I had an impressing fish in my hand. Izick was quite upset I caught a fish before him so he worked on it really hard. Seeing little children besides him catching so quickly didn't helped his pride. After quite a long time under the warm sun a family with fish food in their hands just came to izick rescue and he caught his first fish.

After that we both had another chance and each of us caught one more fish.

In total we had 4 Salomon fishes (3.5 kilo in total).
After we killed them all (me of course, just between the ayes),

we had 3 of them smoked and one fillet.

After that I started my Salomon diet for the last 4 days, since every one who knows Izick knows he doesn't eat them.

On our way back to Nelson we stop on the way to pick some boysenberries.

It was a very fun experience. Nothing like in Israel, when we went to pick some cherries. (Zoya we thought about you at that moment). Izick really liked it, he ate more than he picked, but at the end we had more than 1 kilo of them (just today we finished them).

On Saturday we went to the Saturday market. It was really nice. All the farmers came with their products. It reminded me of South America (Sunday market in the villages).
We had some short reminder of Thailand in the market. We ate chicken sate and noodles, (You can't believe how much Izick change his eating habits, I'm sure some of you will be very surprised). And I had a 10 minutes massage which cost like 2 hours massage in Thailand. In total the market was a good way to spend the early hours of the morning.
From there we went to see some Japanese garden and a special aquarium. The garden was a bit disappointing, but the aquarium was very amazing. It was an open tank so we could touch the fishes. There were all kind of special species and Izick even touch an eel.

On Sunday, Izick birthday, we went to a full day track.

This was Izick dream to be in a track on his birthday. So, since it's was its birthday, how can I say No! even If I had enough of them.

We drove to Nelson Lakes national park, 85 kilometer from Nelson. We climbed on Mount Richard. It was supposed to be a 6 hours track, but since we are in a good shape!!! we finished it in 3 hours.
We knew that the weather wasn't suppose to be good that day, but we still sticked to our plans. When we got to the top, we didn't see anything, as we were walking in a big cloud.

When we started to get down, the beautiful views was reveled to us. It was quite an amazing view, and at that moment we felt it was worth it.
