South America, Here we come...

After 3 days in Costa Rica, we had a flight to South America.

It wasn't easy as it sounds. Our final destination was Santiago de Chile in Chile, but on the way we had a stop in Lime, Peru.

The stop in Lime was quite short, but it was nice seeing this airport for the second time after 6 years, and you can't believe the changes.
According to the airports it seems that Peru is not a third world country. But, I'll tell you that when we will be there, I can't wait to go back.

Finally, we arrived to Santiago at 2:00 in the morning. Izick didn't want to go to the city and find a nice hotel (you know Izick), since he didn't want to pay for the night.

So, we had a LOVELY night at the airport...

In the morning (8:00) we took a taxi from the airport to an hotel (Rio Amazonas).

At first, we had a bit of a shock, since Chile is not as cheap as we remembered South America. Also, you can't really say that Chile is the typical South America, as Bolivia and Peru.
The people looks European, everything looks like a European country, the fashion, the food and the environment.
I think it something that only a person who have been in South America can say.

We didn't spend much at Santiago, since she doesn't offer much, except good exchange rate and cheap Internet, everything else is quite expensive. (35$ per night in a hotel).

After 2 days we took a night bus to Pucon. A nice touristic town.
We had a worm welcome when we got there from Gina at Nature house (People who traveled here 6 years ago knows it as Ali and Shay place).
Gina is a Indian Chilean who become jewish. She speaks Hebrew fluently, which is very helpful.

Pucon offer several attraction for the common mochiler (backpacker).
We did some of them...

Central America - Costa Rica

Ola, Como Esta? and for the English speaking, Hi, How are you?

As you can imagine we started our second leg of our trip, which is South America with a short stop in Central America. It started with a flight from LA to Costa Rica (which is in Central America).

Apparently, LAX is not as vibrant as Tel Aviv airport!!!
We got to the airport at 23:00 for our 2:30 flight and at this hour nothing was opened in the airport so, we had to wait anxiously to our plane's meal. Finally, after long wait without no drinks we board on the plane.
It started like any other normal flight, we got our drinks after an hour and suprisingly our dinner was chips. Yes, this is what you get when you pay ONLY 700$ for a ticket in copa airlines.
Not long after having our "satisfying" chips, we had an emergency landing. Calm down, nothing dangerous or frightening happened, just one of the flight attended just fainted all of a sudden. So, after only 1 hour in the air we where back on the ground in Mexico.
(Well, for at least we can say we had another stop on our trip around the world). The stop didn't ended by just letting the flight attendant off the plane, NOooooooooo, we had to wait for about 3 hours with no news or any information about our delay. If it was an Israeli airlines with Israeli people on it, it wouldn't ended nicely. There were only spanish people, which seems to be much calm. Thanks god we didn't had any connection.

Finally the second take off began, after 3 exhausting hours. For at least we got another chips.

From here we had 3 more hours till we got to Costa Rica. The arrival to Costa Rica was quite smooth.
We took a taxi from the airport to our hotel, hotel Pacande (3$ which were paid by the hotel). The hotel was quite cosy.

We didn't see much of Costa Rica, since we staid there only for 3 days, but we are going to fix it when we will return to LA. We will have 2 weeks in Costa Rica.

Cook Island , The last destination in the Pasific ocean

After a week of relaxing in Fiji, we had 1 more week to relax before arriving to USA.
This last week was amazing.
The first night we stayed in the main land (Rartonga). On the next day we were on our way to a small island in the area. To get to this island we had to take a flight.
Check out the view from the airplane...

As we arrived to the island, we got a warm polenisian welcome, with coconut drink and flowers.

The place we stayed was amazing. It was a luxirios resort, isolated in his own samll island.

Very relaxing and quite.
The resort was in the middle of a lagoon, which mean that the color of the water was amazing.

Our Room

We had alot of activities in the resort.

Wind surfing

coconut weving, we made a bowl for the coconut we grined.

Island night

We also enjoyed the food in the place, quite amazing (and very very expensive).

Eventhought it seems that we relaxed most of the time, it´s not completely true. One day we rent bicycles and ride almost all around the island (about 4 hours). It was quite an exercise since it was very hot.
I know that people who knows me, are now scratching their heads, and asking themselfs how can it be that I was riding. Well, I have news to all of you, I learned how to ride back in New Zealand, and after doing this small trip in the island I can announce that I know how to ride.

From Atutaki (The resort island) we took a cruise to see some other small island in the lagoon. One of them was the island were Survivor (the american show) was filmed and the small exile island. It was quite interesting to see what kind of places they are taken and also to hear some behind the scene scoops....

After being in this amazing place for 5 days, we returnd to Rartonga, the main island.
After being in Atutaki, this place was quite a disappointment. But, izick made the best of it.
He went diving and also did some short guided hiking (I had enought of them for the mean time).
